Kilmore District Health Energy Audit
A district health located in central Victoria and consists of hospital building, aged care facility, nursing home facility and outpatient clinics building. This energy audit was part of their strategy to achieve sustainable operation for their buildings. We were able to identify 17 energy saving opportunities and the major recommendations are listed below:
- Fine tuning to the air conditioning controller and hot water system.
- Improved boilers' controls.
- Replace old air conditioning units with new high efficiency type.
- Add energy efficiency control strategies to the Building Management System (BMS).
- Change the constant flow system of the chillers and boilers to variable flow system.
- Solar hot water system.
- Solar PV system to generate electricity.
- Replace lights with more efficient type and add new controls.
Total annual cost saving was $56,736 with 6.31 years payback period. Annual GHG avoidance was 369 Tonnes CO2-e.
