Commercial Energy Audit

Commercial Buildings and businesses consume high energy because they have big floor areas and big mechanical and electrical systems. This leads to high energy bills and high CO2 emissions. Systems such as Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) contribute to around 40% of the total building energy consumption. Such systems have many energy saving opportunities that can be implemented to save energy and money.

Building Managers usually hire service agents to maintain and keep these systems running. However, most of these service agents are usually busy and concentrate on maintenance issues and overlook the energy saving opportunities.

AESS can engage with the building managers by conducting detailed energy audit to their buildings to identify energy saving opportunities and help them implement them. Our energy audit is conducted by a Professional Engineer with a vast experience that allows him to evaluate the systems reasonably and produce applicable solutions.

We conduct our energy audits in accordance with the Australian Standard AS/NZS-3598:2014 from Level 1(basic), Level 2 (detailed) to Level 3(precision sub-system).

Commercial Energy Audit Scope

Below is summary of our detailed energy audit scope for Commercial Buildings and Businesses.

  1. We sit with the building managers to brief us about the building and the mechanical and electrical systems installed. We also collect the energy bills to be analyzed later.
  2. We inspect all the systems that consume energy such as Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration Systems and Equipment, Lighting Systems, Hot Water Systems...etc.
  3. During inspection, we gather all our observations and measurements to be examined later.
  4. We analyze in details with graphs and figures the energy bills to identify any anomalies.
  5. We perform our energy saving calculations to estimate the savings, energy saving measure cost and the simple payback period for that measure. Also, we calculate the return on investment (ROI).
  6. We prepare a detailed report contains all our recommendations for the energy saving measures. Each measure is discussed in details including the energy saving calculations.
  7. We submit our report to our clients and we can sit again with them to discuss our findings. We can even conduct a presentation about our findings to the stakeholders.
  8. We can help our clients in sourcing and comparing the energy saving products and contractors required to implement the energy saving measures.
